So back in sixth grade...I think...we were required to make an alphabet book on a topic of our choosing.  Back then I really loved drawing animals and to this day still do so I decided on an alphabet book of mythical creatures.  Over the break I found the pop up book in all its glory...it was a good four inches thick (doubled up construction paper) and barely held together with rubber cement.  Anyways, I thought it'd be fun to revisit these drawings as my new project for 2013.  :)

A is for Almaricorn.

Getting back to my comfort zone...architecture and animals. Actually started these on the plane ride back to LA but counts for drawing number one and two in 2013!!!

Painted this in an hour.  Didn't really care and it turned out alright.  I should just not think about anything I do from now on.

It's been a long time since I've watercolored.  This is my second attempt.  You don't even want to see the first.  So difficult to get the shadow values right.  So difficult to get good at anything these days.

My feeble attempt at inking.  Lips done over digitally because I effed them up all kinds of pretty.  Obviously I need more practice.  Cheers!

These suckers are surprisingly hard to draw.  Anyways, this is being sent to a friend...hopefully she likes it.  :)

Also did a painted version....these dogs always seem kind of purple to me.

While I was back home over the holiday season I found some of my drawings and assignments from my study abroad in Rome...I guess my mom decided a box in the back of the pantry was the ideal place for them.  I don't think I've ever posted any of this stuff so these will have to suffice as my first few posts of the new year as I am still under some heavy deadlines.  I sketched anything that caught my eye as I traveled throughout Europe but most of these sketches are Italy related.  Ok, until next time...enjoy!
